Unpsychic Predictions for November 6, 2010
Posted in Unpsychic Predictions on 11/06/2010 09:38 am by stephanieThere are lots of professional psychics out there predicting the future – the funny thing is, many of them get bad hits and still have tons of followers. One predicted the Rangers would win the World Series in six games. Another predicted a big earthquake in Japan for the end of August. I figure, I could probably do half as well.
Disclaimer: I don’t claim these are psychic predictions. Some of what I post here are extrapolations from things I read, and some are things I’ve pulled out of my proverbial rear-end. I’m just doing this for fun.
Predictions:
Keith Olbermann will eventually be let go completely from MSNBC. After this happens, his ego will get the better of him and he will “act out” in some manner. This could be something as mild as him making a public stink or filing a lawsuit, or something really off the wall like him wandering the halls of MSNBC drunk and carrying a gun. It may come out that he has a drinking problem.
California earthquakes: You do not need to be psychic to know that Los Angeles is going to have another big devastating earthquake sometime in our lifetimes. I’m going to predict that this will happen sometime between now and 2012, but it will come as a two-parter. The first will be a moderately damaging quake of approximately 5-6 on the Richter scale. This will be the foreshock or precursor to the “big one,” which will hit the Los Angeles area hard with a magnitude 7.4-7.5. The bigger quake will come weeks or months after the first one, and people will be surprised – they will become too complacent because they believed things were “done” after the initial quake.
Stock up on food because food prices are going up, possibly way up. Once again, you don’t need to be psychic to figure this one out…all it takes is reading some econobloggers like Zero Hedge, who explain how Bernanke’s move to use “quantitative easing” is destroying the value of the dollar.
Barack Obama will not run for re-election in 2012. He will seek a more global role in the UN while a weak Democrat falls to a Tea Party Republican candidate. (Sadly, I don’t feel Hillary Clinton will run again – hope I’m wrong.) I’ll put my bets on Marco Rubio before Sarah Palin. Marco Rubio will become the first Hispanic president (if not in 2012, sometime in the future) and this will turn the Hispanic vote over to the GOP.
Christine O’Donnnell will temporarily fade from the public eye, but come back later with some sort of book and/or personal rebranding.
70s punk/80s new wave will come back in style more prominently. Think Debbie Harry.
Glenn Beck will fall ill or somehow be taken out. While he is off-base on a lot of his stuff, some of what he’s sharing now is hitting a little too close to home for the powers that be.
Riots: Some sort of event will set off riots in some major cities, perhaps Oakland, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
Another big world disaster is on the way, but it will bring the world together to help aid the victims. I hope I’m wrong on this one too. It just sort of popped into my head as I was finishing this.

You were dead right on Olbermann! I see him acting out big time in the weeks to come!

Yes! My first “hit!” Now we shall see if my “acting out” prediction comes to pass.
